Release Day for Ain't No Angel

Ain't No Angel, Book 2 in the Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series is now available on Amazon

Should be available at Barnes & Noble within a day, and on iTunes within a few weeks.

Delaney Goodman has been running from her painful past all her life.  Dreams of working with horses have long been replaced with the reality of doing anything to make ends meet.  About to hit rock bottom, she accepts a stranger’s proposition, even if it sounds too good to be true. She figures she has nothing, not even her dignity, to lose.  She awakens in an unfamiliar setting - and century - and quickly discovers that she will need more than her charm to complete the task assigned to her.

On the surface, Tyler Monroe has everything going for him -  good looks, the respect of his friends and neighbors, and a thriving horse ranch.  However, his past holds deep wounds with thick emotional scars. When a brazen, beautiful woman arrives in town, Tyler makes an impulsive decision that will cause him to question everything he knows.

Tyler is unlike any man Laney has ever met.  Laney is exactly the kind of woman Tyler wants to avoid. As the attraction between them grows, questions arise that stretch the boundaries of trust for both.  The secrets that threaten to tear them apart could be exactly what Tyler and Laney need to bring them together.

Ain't No Angel Book Release Announcement

AIN'T NO ANGEL (Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series, Book 2) Release Date!

Thursday, December 5, 2013

... for Amazon and Barnes & Noble. (Amazon has been known to get glitchy with my releases, so keeping fingers crossed that it's a smooth release) If it's available sooner, I will make another announcement.
For those of you using iTunes, I can't say when it will be out. Apple has a lengthy content review process, so it might take two weeks or sometimes longer.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

This is the last teaser I will post for Ain't No Angel (guess what that means!)

I was way off on my writing schedule for this particular book. Some unforeseen personal circumstances, deciding to try and write two books simultaneously early in the writing of this book (which was a mistake and something I will never attempt to do again), and a work-related commitment has set me back by a month or more with this book. I will announce a release date next week.  Thank you to all my eager readers who have waited so patiently for this story to get finished.

Tyler cleared his throat. “Is there anything you need to get settled?” He pushed himself away from the fence, and started for the barns.
Laney laughed softly, and fell in step next to him. He perused her out of the corner of his eyes. Her hair fluttered loosely around her face, and cascaded down her back. He gripped his hat to curb the urge to reach over and touch it. It would be smooth as silk. His fingers tingled from the memory of lifting her hair aside the day before in order to loosen her corset.
Dammit! He needed to get his head on straight. Everything she’d done yesterday, whether intentional or not, had fueled his desire for her unlike anything he ever experienced.
“Is something funny?” he asked.
Laney glanced up at him. “There are a lot of things I need, cowboy, but I don’t think you’ll be able to supply me with any of them.”
Tyler closed his eyes for the briefest of seconds. How was he supposed to interpret those words? Was she flirting with him, or was there another meaning to what she’d said, other than the obvious.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

Here's this week's teaser.

Tyler’s fingers grazed her back when he lifted her hair and laid the long strands over her shoulder. Her heart hammered in her chest, and a chill raced down her spine. Why did he affect her like this? There was something so sensual about his slow and gentle movement, something so unexpectedly tender that it brought tears to her eyes. She’d asked him to remove her corset and he quietly complied, without any lewd remark or stare, or even a hint that he wanted to undress her fully and take advantage of the situation.
Tyler worked the lacings loose as if he had plenty of practice with this sort of thing, and she breathed freely once the confining contraption fell away from her sides. She clutched the corset tightly to her chest, even though she still wore a chemise underneath. A breeze swept through the room from the open window, and although it wasn’t cold, goose bumps covered her arms.
Laney stood still. She leaned forward slightly and held her head down. She ground her teeth in frustration. The skin along either side of her spine tingled, anticipating, longing for his touch. Now that he’d loosened the confining corset, she imagined his palms sliding along her shoulder, his lips pressing against the back of her neck.
“That oughta do it,” he grumbled. “You’d better get dressed before you catch a chill.”
Laney held her breath. She waited, then slowly turned.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

Laney observed his hands, his subtle finger movements as he played with the reins through which he communicated silently with the animals. He closed his hands in a relaxed fist, and the team came to a stop at the top of the incline. Tyler had a gentle hand with the animals. It required a certain touch, a feel, to control a team with such subtle finesse, and he was a master at it. Before she allowed her mind to wander to what else his hands were capable of, Laney glanced at his profile, wondering why they’d stopped. He looked straight ahead, and her eyes followed his gaze.
“Oh, wow.” Her heart rate accelerated, and she sat up straighter, leaning forward to see over the tops of the horses’ backs. Spread out in the valley below them were several barns and buildings, and wooden fenced corrals. A large log ranch house caught her eye, nestled against the slope of a pine tree-covered hill. A huge stone chimney rose from the backside of the house. Dozens of horses grazed in the outlying fields and larger fenced paddocks. A windmill stood off to the side of the dirt yard that separated the main house from the first outbuildings. The blades turned lazily in the breeze.
“Welcome to the Double M,” Tyler said. There was a distinct note of pride in his voice.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

Gabe coughed loudly next to her. “I’m afraid there’s been a change in plans, Miss Goodman. Tyler here can fill you in on the particulars.” He glanced up at the other man, a disapproving frown on his face. “But not to worry. There are plenty of other, eager—”
“There’s been no change in plans,” Tyler cut him off sharply. The two men stared each other down like a couple of dogs ready to get into a fight. A wide grin suddenly brightened Gabe’s face, and he relaxed his stance. Next to her, the tension in Tyler was almost palpable.
“Well, in that case, and since the introductions are finished, I suppose you want to go see Reverend Johnson. He’s expecting you.” Gabe rubbed his hands together.
Laney’s head snapped up. “Reverend Johnson? He’s here?”
“You know him?” Tyler asked. He looked at her in surprise.
“I think so. Old guy with grey hair and blue eyes?”
Tyler nodded, and Laney breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness the old man was here. He could fill her in on her apparent memory loss, and what exactly was expected of her.
“Awesome.” Laney smiled. “I really need to see him. Where’s the church?”
Gabe and Tyler exchanged perplexed looks as if she’d said something odd. Gabe grinned smugly, and Tyler scowled. There was some sort of silent communication going on between these two, and if she had to guess, it was because of her. Gabe broke eye contact first, and Tyler offered Laney his arm.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

“Miss Goodman? I hope your journey wasn’t too uncomfortable.” He removed his hat from his head.
Laney swallowed back the lump in her throat. She nearly slapped her own cheek. She couldn’t stop staring at him. Strands of sandy blonde, nearly brown hair spilled over his forehead. A five o’clock shadow covered his square jaw and above his lip, giving him a ruggedly masculine look. The smile on his face didn’t seem to reach his eyes, but it did give him a certain boyish look. He was a lot younger than she expected. She’d pictured some middle-aged or older man, not this athletic, drop-dead gorgeous guy in his mid-twenties. Everything about him screamed rugged outdoorsman. So unlike the type of guys she’d met in the city.
His intense gaze held hers, and she detected a flicker of annoyance in his eyes. She blinked, breaking the contact. If she wasn’t careful, she’d be tripping all over herself. This day . . . these last two days, ever since she stepped into that limousine in L.A., had been too good to be true. Laney mentally shook her head. Nothing good ever happened to her.

Teaser Tuesday - Ain't No Angel

Here's a first quick peek at Ain't No Angel - Book 2 in the Second Chances Time Travel Romance Series.

Delaney Goodman stood in front of the bathroom mirror, dressed to kill. She stared at her reflection and laughed, a short, disgusted laugh. Committing murder - preferably her own murder – might be easier than what she’d resigned herself to do. How could she possibly bring herself to go through with this? The idea hadn’t seemed so daunting a week ago.
She inhaled a deep breath and released it slowly in an effort to calm her frazzled nerves. What the hell was she doing here, in this fancy hotel room? When had life turned from horrible to downright unbearable?
There is no other way, Laney. You’ve sunk about as low as you can go.
